About This Course

This course is an introduction to statistical analysis as applied in linguistic research. The issues covered include statistical inference and its relation to research design, descriptive measures and data visualisation, factors in the choice of statistical tests and detailed explanations of several frequently used tests. The statistical software R is used.

The course has been developed within the SNSF-funded institutional partnership Regional Linguistic Data Initiative, co-ordinated by the University of Zurich.

The course is in Serbian. It is self-paced and it does not include any formal assessment or a certificate.

Requirements

No previous knowledge of statistics is required.
